Dancing With The Stars ~ Mystery Music Week
Dancing With The Stars With A Little Snark
We’re getting close to the end of this season. This week on Dancing With The Stars the performers needed to do two dances. One of their own choosing, the other an “Instant Jive”. They all get time to practice the rudimentary steps of this dance; the gimmick is that the dancers have no idea what song they’ll be “jiving” to!
If you’ve followed all my updates you’re either amused, interested or sick to death of me telling you about how much I want JR Martinez to win this contest! Obviously the judges are starting to agree with me. He did a wonderful waltz, lyrical and graceful-got a perfect 30. Then his jive rocked the ballroom- another 30! He is a fabulous entertainer and the joy on his face as he performs is infectious. It’s funny, as the weeks go on his war related facial scars have truly become less and less noticeable. Oh what a smile!!!!
Ricki Lake is still nipping at his heels, solid scores in her waltz, a less than stellar jive. For such a perfectionist (according to her) her dance was sloppy. Better be back in fighting form next week if she wants to get back to the top.
Rob Kardashian continues to show weekly improvement. He really has been the most transformed dancer this season. Started out tragic, now a serious contender. Did a quick step followed by the jive-must help to be so young as he was barely winded after 2 energetic performances. Huge family support in the audience( sister Kim was a no show!)
Hope Solo. Well, she had a great week. Did a really good quick step, got excellent scores (3- 9’s) even got a hug from one of the judges. Her jive wasn’t as good, a few episodes of losing her footing and the rhythm. Maks was well behaved this week. No spats with the judges and more importantly no vicious behavior with Hope. Don’t think they’ll make it to the top three but I’m frankly surprised they made it this far!
And then there was Nancy Grace. Her tango was a mess-but for some reason got fair scores. Her jive was just awful. To top off the disaster she threw in a terrible cartwheel (no kidding, 5 year olds would do a better job!) She was barely moving her feet, lost her way a couple of times and had a really unflattering costume. On the bright side…she got voted off the island!!! So very past time for this.
So this week is the semifinals. If I ruled the world, Hope would be eliminated leaving JR, Ricki and Rob in the finals. The real drama will be finding a TV for the finals; I’ll be on a road trip Thanksgiving week with my nephew. Sure hope we’re checked into a hotel by 8pm…and that he wants to watch dancing!!!
