The One Thing I Will Do In 2012 Come Hell or High Water!

2012 A Year of Possibilities

Jan 3, 2012 by

We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.Edith Lovejoy Pierce

This quote from Edith Lovejoy Pierce seems particularly relevant for an online community, since of course, each new post begins with a blank page.

On All The Single Girlfriends our posts wrap around the stories of our life experiences. Often they reflect our dreams, joys, hopes and sometimes our sadnesses.

Our Gf authors are amazing and I wondered how they were going to fill the blank pages of their 2012 books .. what did they want to do in 2012 .. come hell or high water!

Debra Pearlman ~ Resolutions … been there, broke that.  I’d rather say that I’d focus on becoming a better me.

Serena Kovalosky ~ I’ve made all sorts of resolutions over the years, firmly resolving on January 1 to lose weight, earn more money, change jobs, change my life. I’ve managed to accomplish most of them, while others are still works in progress.

But by the end of this year, I had decided not to make any resolutions for 2012.

My artist mind, however, latched onto the concept of New Year’s resolutions, turned it upside down and came up with something creative and juicy. See my Artful Vagabond blog for what I’ll be doing for the next 365 days.

As a result, there is one thing I am determined to accomplish in 2012, come hell or high water: I’ll be writing my first book, based on how my 365-day “non-resolution” turns out! Stay tuned!

Jody DeVere ~ A New Year’s resolution is a commitment that a person makes to one or more lasting personal goals, projects, or the reforming of a habit. (Source Wikipedia)

The one thing I will do in 2012 come hell or high water in 2012 is spend more time with my girl friends having fun hanging out.

Looking back on 2011 the times I spent with my women friends were some of the most enjoyable, comforting and enriching!  Highlights: Took a 10 day cruise with my dear friend Paula Lombard President of AutoTex Pink, to the Western Caribbean, such good times and bonds formed. Toured the Harley Davidson Museum and had lunch at their “Motor” restaurant in Milwaukee Wi with one of my most generous and wonderful friends Julie Scroggins VP of  Waukegan Tire.

Spent 5 wonderful days during SEMA in Las Vegas room sharing, slumber party style, with Bogie Latner and Amy Mattinat two women who are dear friends and auto repair shop owners. I crave and need more of this quality time with my women friends, it does more to lift my spirits than all other social or recreational activities I do. Wishing all the Single Girl Friends a very Happy New Year!

Dorothea Bozicolona-Volpe ~  Come hell or high water .. Launch that bloody blog!

2012 resolutions . . or none resolutions:  Get to some place in Europe that I have NOT been, Learn how to play bridge, Contribute at least one blog post or review to ATSGF per week!

2012 predictions for women 40+:  Gain muscle mass, Eat more veggies, Fast at least once a quarter, Floss more, Bikram yoga

The one thing I will not do in 2012 come hell or high water:  Compromise my morals for a paycheck

Maggie Buerger ~  1) lose at least 60 pounds and live a healthier lifestyle, 2) maintain a positive attitude, 3) meet all of my deadlines, and 4) play more, dance more, travel more and dream more.

Tish Grier ~ I’m planning to shed the pounds in a manner similar to the way I shed my grief:  slowly, and steadliy, with lots of appreciation for the process.

Toby Bloomberg ~ The one question people seem to ask me all-the-time is, “Where is your book?” 2012 is the year of writing that damn book! Adding a number two .. create an offline event for All The Single Girlfriends where we can celebrate each other face-to-face and being single in spirit.

Yvonne DiVita ~ I say let’s make 2012 theYear of the Powerful Woman. What does that mean to everyone? In China, it’s Year of the Dragon – how can we capture THAT? Come hell or high water!
